Sports for Development for one child - South Africa

Many children are already a goal down from the moment they are born. That is because they are destined to grow up in poverty and violence. UNICEF is using sport to improve the lives of these children. At 800 problem schools in South African townships, UNICEF is training teachers to become sports coaches. The sports classes are a welcome distraction for the children and an interactive way to teach them about everyday issues like HIV, AIDS and dealing with violence. These are vital lessons that children in townships need to survive.

A € 16 donation will ensure that a child can play sports and games for as long as he or she is in school while being taught valuable life skills by a properly trained coach.
